We did one of our projector stands today, which allow the projectors to be tilted up to project onto the canopy of umbrellas.
Heat shrink tubes are used along the rod to prevent the projector (or arms from slipping).
Details of the stoppers - we included these because we found the weight of the projectors would push the support back out to stand at 90 degrees to the base, which means the projector would fall. These give the whole mechanism more stability.

Basically this is what it looks like - there will be a covering around it for weather protection, but that's not done yet. It's working well for us though at the moments - quite stable and strong! And serves its purpose :D
