Testing Q Light Controller and Projector cases

We tried the Q Light Controller software, playing around with the colours of the lights and flashing frequencies.

With our light and sound strategy we plan to have all umbrella stands in a calm 'mode' and then each environment (we will have four) comes up with their respective sounds colours, creating a sort of chaos between themselves.

The video below shows the 'default' calm mode that goes across all the umbrellas. We're hoping for an effect similar to that of the Canopy installation by United Visual Artists.

We also made our first projector case prototype today - well, not the case itself, but the mechanism that tilts the projector up to the right angles in order to project onto the umbrellas.

It seems to work quite well. We're using the cut-offs from our aluminium arms which means we don't need to go out and buy more materials, and we have bolts that go through the side pieces to support the projector.

At the moment the 'arms' are actually quite floppy as there is no support at the top - from this we decided to use some kind of rod as a substitute for the bolts which will not only hold up the projector, but also make the whole mechanism more stable.
